O sensor CMOS de 21.1Mp da câmera e quadro inteiro formato 35mm (24x36mm) da câmera captura arquivos de imagem com incrível qualidade e precisão de cor e pode capturar arquivos JPEG, RAW e RAW+JPEG. A câmera também incorpora o aclamado DIGIC 4 da Canon que funciona junto com um buffer DDR-SDRAM de alta velocidade para assegurar rápidos tempos de processamento de imagem.
