Pontos Fortes: Ultra quiet,
Modular flexible cables,
Five year warranty
Pontos Fracos: NA
Resumo: With aim of this PSU you can build silent PC, which will be able to run some seriously power-demanding applications - e.g. 3D-games :) This PSU can feed Quad-core CPU and 2 videocards, and still stay quiet. The only noise you will hear (assuming you have good heatsinks on CPU and GPU) is seek noise of your HDD(s)!
The modular sleeved cables ease the challenges of keeping the system tidy and aerodynamic for optimal airflow, which is especially important if you wish to maximize cooling with the slowest of fans for the lowest noise. To top it all off, Corsair offers a five year warranty, which is the longest for any PSU!
It's price seems high at first, but in fact it worth every penny!
Highly recommended if you would like to build power, but quiet system.

Pontos Fortes: 520W, low noise, high-grade components & construction, 5 year warranty, good looks, Active PFC, modular cabling, SLI certified
Pontos Fracos: Price a bit on the higher side.
Resumo: Matched my Cooler Master Centurion case perfectly. Is driving a C2D E6600 on a Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 mobo with EVGA 7600GT video card, four hard drives, two dvd-rw drives, two PCI cards and three case fans without breaking a sweat. The HX520 is very quiet compared to my previous Antec 400W PSU. Provides more than ample power for a mid-to-high end system. Highly recommended.

Pontos Fortes: Quality, modular cables, rock stable power delivery and ultra quiet.
Pontos Fracos: Maybe the price? But you get what you pay for.
Resumo: I went to this Corsair psu, from an ageing Antec True Blue 485W. This, after reading tons of power supply reviews. Among them, a very positive one from "SPCR" (Silent Pc Review)wich are very troughout when testing stuff.
This psu have very long cables. No problems using this in my Antec P180B case, where the psu resides in a separate compartment / tunnel at the bottom of the case.
I love the modular cables! No more cable clutter. A thing you really appreciate when owning a Antec P180 case, where the cable routing is a bit of a pain.
The HX 520W also comes with a nice nylon bag for the spare cables. And you even get some black zip ties and a nice Corsair case sticker for your bragging rights.
As for noise, you must have ears like a bat to hear any noise from this psu!
I live in the quiet country side. So the ambient noise is very low. And I only have 2 X Noctua super silent, 120mm, 1200rpm fans in the case runnning at 850rpm ( 20 dba ). And a Geforce 7950 GT with a Zalman VF 900 CU cooler on low setting.
I have to remove the side panel, and put my ear close to the power supply to be able to discern it from the other fans in the case.
Looking at the rails, they are rock steady, even when the psu is under pressure, like running Prime 95, torture test for ex.
I have never heard the psu fan spin up, during the 2 months I have owned this beauty. So it does'nt seem to have any problems what so ever, feeding my overclocked AMD Athlon64 4000+, 2 Raptor hard drives, a Geforce 7950GT, 2 fans and dvd combo + a Creative X-FI sound card. Or maybe the fan is dead silent even at full throttle? Have'nt got a clue lol.
A combined ampereage of 40A on the +12V rails. Will allow you to pick even the most power hungry top Radeon or Geforce video card. So the psu should be pretty future proof.
The only competition the Corsair HX 520W may have, is the
PC Power and Cooling 510W. But I seriously doubt it's worth the extra cost.
I would give this psu more stars than 5 if it whas possible.

Pontos Fortes: Modular cables, stable rails, quiet, SLI certified, appearance
Pontos Fracos: 2 sata cables, price
Resumo: Great psu for mid range systems. It has quiet, stable power on all rails. The cables are long and maneuverable enough for larger cases like p180. It has 5 year warranty and price is getting reasonable. I has two 2 modular dual SATA power cables which may affect systems with large number of SATA drives.

Pontos Fortes: Build quality. Modular cables. 5 year warranty!! Rock solid lines.
Pontos Fracos: None.
Resumo: For any serious builder, the power supply is THE most important component- the heart of the PC is you will. Do not skimp on the power supply when you are spending 100's on the rest of your computer. The 5 year warranty makes this power supply a no brainer. I am running a evga 8600GT, Intel E4300, MSI Platinum motherboard, Maxtor SATA HD and various other bits and pieces and not once had a problem. There is a reason why this is rated 5 stars :)

Pontos Fortes: Excellent expert reviews, modular, 520 watts, quiet and thermal controlled fan, attractive appearance if that matters. 5 year warranty.
Pontos Fracos: None to date.
Resumo: 2007-05-03 14:00:41 I would add my firm agreement to the earlier reviews here, as well as the majority of feedback posted on major retailer sites. I researched this item throughly prior to purchase, being most impressed by an online review at a site focused on silent custom pc building with an extensive writeup about the two corsair power supplies, including thorough metering at various stress loads. This was very valuable as I do not have the technical background to perform such a series of tests.
Given the approval from such a thorough exam, numerous user experiences, and the listed specs, as well as the five year warranty, I feel this is a power supply that will juice all but the most demanding rigs with peace of mind. At 520 watts, and SLI certified, it seems future proof unless an uber-rig is designed that would need more power, but that will be the case with any power supply.
I highly recommend this product, it has set the bar high and met my expectations. I have experienced no problems with this quiet unit in the short time I have had it. It has ample power for my current needs and reserves to outlast my planned upgrades. The actual manufacturer of the power supply is highly regarded. The modular cables are great as they allow one to withhold extaneous cables that would interfere with airflow and cooling.
It is also attractively packaged and well organized with a carrier bag for unused cables.

Pontos Fortes: High efficiency (~80%), active PFC, auto 110/220V switching, modular connectors, dual 6-pin PCI-E, 120mm fan
Pontos Fracos: Price (but you do get what you pay for!)
Resumo: Purchased this power supply after reading JonnyGuru's glowing reviews of the HX 520W and 620W. Since he really puts his review units through the ringer and rates these units 9/10, you really can't go wrong with them.
Installed into a CoolerMaster Praetorian powering an overclocked 8800GTS and Core 2 Duo E6420 (3.5GHz). The modular connectors are a blessing - much less tangle in an already dense copper jungle. The fan runs quiet and the higher efficiency is great (it's noticeably cooler running than the less efficient Vantec ION 460W it replaced).
Some folks have reported a slight buzzing with some units but I have not noticed this on mine and Corsair does back this unit up with great support (they offer to exchange buzzing units at no charge, if I'm not mistaken).

Pontos Fortes: Modular cables, quiet, enough power for most people
Pontos Fracos: Somewhat expensive, no lifetime warranty
Resumo: I bought this to build a new system using an E4300, probably upgrading to an E6XXX later. I wanted to have a decent PSU that would handle overclocking abilities and remain quiet and cool. This PSU does just that. It doesn't throw a lot of heat and it is very quiet inside my Antec Solo case. The modular cables are sturdy and allow you to have only the cables you need inside the case, avoiding the bundle of extra cords often stuffed to the side. Overall a great PSU.

Pontos Fortes: Quiet
Pontos Fracos: None
Resumo: Using for a Antec 900 case and e6600 cpu. This PSU being built by Seasonic has a reputation for durability. Extraneously, as a retired demolition man, I feel at home with the industrial look. I can't even hear the fan. Nice, clean installation easy with modular cables.

Pontos Fortes: Solid construction, great finish, quiet 120mm fan, modularized cables
Pontos Fracos: None
Resumo: I bought this power supply to power a Core 2 E6400 2x 8800GTS SLi setup and am extremely impressed thus far. Little to no voltage ripple, rails are WELL within +/- 10% specs and it doesn't draw all that much from the wall (measured with a Kill-a-Watt). As a bonus, it runs extremely quiet too unlike the cheaper, less efficient power supplies, which just throw raw CFMs at cheap components. Definitely consider this unit and don't cheap out on the power supply after spending hundres of dollars on other components.

Pontos Fortes: Solidly attaching modular cables, quiet fan, nice accessories bag
Pontos Fracos: Pricey
Resumo: So far I'm nothing but happy with this Power Supply. It's got a quiet fan, and the modular power-plugs really stay attached well (unlike some other products, such as the cheap "Ultra" branded supplies).
This product comes with a nylon bag to hold all the extra cables that aren't attached and used. Not sure why that's necessary, but it sure makes it seem like Corsair went the extra mile to make this product feel high-end.
This Power Supply has exceeded my expectations. It's currently being used with an E6600, 8800GTX, and a SATA-II drive.

Pontos Fortes: Quiet, high efficiency and modular cable, 5 years warranty
Pontos Fracos: A little pricy
Resumo: This Power Supply from Corsair is really the best among all the PS I have ever bought. So quiet you can hardly hear it even during heavy load, high efficient that it won't generate a lot heat and save you electricity bill. This power supply also comes with modular cables which means you only need to plug in those cables you need and that really makes my computer neat inside. This power supply is SLi certified which means it has high current on its two 12V rail.
The price is a little bit high ~$100 though, but hey, this power supply carries a 5 years manufacture's warranty and you get what you paid for.

Pontos Fortes: Three 12v rails, modular cables, almost silent, and five year warenty
Pontos Fracos: Wish it had a fan monitoring wire.
Resumo: Got this to replace a failed 500 watt PS. I was impressed with the quality and great packaging. Seasonic makes this unit for Corsair, so it is extremely quiet, even under load. The active PFC and 80+% efficiency should save on power bills over time. Software monitoring indicates extremely stable voltages, but I plan on testing with a multimeter eventually. So far I am very happy with this purchase. Will probably use a HX-620 on my upcoming SLI build.

Pontos Fortes: quiet
powerful
stable
Pontos Fracos: no fan control header
Resumo: This is certainly the quietest and also the most stable power supply I've ever owned. I replaced the Antec 380w PSU the came with my case and couldn't be happier. The only small quiblle is that this PSU doesn't have a fan speed cable I can attach to the motherboard.

Pontos Fortes: Low noise, low temperature, modular cables that allow you to use only what you need (less clutter), excellent stability, SLI certified!
Pontos Fracos: Price? Well, to be fair, you can't find a lower priced PSU that's SLI certified and THIS quiet!
Resumo: First, I'm not a gamer, so I can't speak for SLI performance. I'm building a new PC and have read tons and tons of reviews out there. The deciding factor for me were two things: 1. Stability under heavy load and 2. Quietness. Most people sit very close to their PCs, as I do. So noise is a big factor. I've had the same PC for the last 8 years and its power supply has been rock solid. Although it's not Corsair, I've heard Excellent things about this particular PSU and its similarity between Seasonic PSU (M12 or S12) on the inside. If you read SilentPCReview, you'll know that this was rated as #1 in performance and noise. I can't believe how stable and cool this PSU remains during normal and Peak usage. Also, it helps to conserve energy as it's 80+% efficient, so during normal usage, this puppy will save you $$. It's time to upgrade to industrial grade PSU that was rated #1 by Silent PC Review!!!!
