Resumo: I have recently purchased linksys cit200. Can it be used with VOIP STUNT as well? At present I can only use it with Skype. It is a very helpful product.

Pontos Fracos: Based on other reviews, it looks like people get confused if the CIT200 wins priority as the default Windows sound device. This can be reset manually, but the setup shouldn't let it happen at all.
Resumo: I am delighted with this phone. I can take it anywhere in the house and remain in contact with Skype. Sound quality is excellent, and I no longer need to put on a headset when I want to use Skype. The menu is straightforward and was immediately obvious to my technologically challenged housemate. The feel, the menu, the sounds and numerous details combine to present an impression of quality.
I understood that other users were able to switch back and forth between using their computer microphone/speakers and a Linksys CIT200, but I couldn't make it happen without manually configuring the sound device in Skype. In any case, due to a bug in Skype 2.0 I usually un-check the Skype option box that says "Let Skype adjust my sound device settings" in any setup where I prefer to use a different sound device from the Windows default.
This device is so convenient it enables you to consider using Skype as an alternative to a conventional telephone even if you don't live next to your computer.

Resumo: I have never liked being hooked to a computer to use the phone and the CIT 200 solves that problem well. I have it connected to a media PC (Beyond TV and Media for TV/music playback) and it works great without any conflicts. My computer is set up to have all sounds except Skype play through the speakers. I can even listen to music or watch TV shows on the PC while someone is talking on the phone without any issues (all the sounds go to the right place without interrupting either activity). Other reviewers that say this is not possible have not set up the devices properly. I have been using this phone for about a month without any problems. All the software loads at start-up and the phone connects with Skype every time.
It is compatible with Skype-In and Skype-Out. All of your contacts are displayed on the handset at the touch of a button. It is a little slow to scroll through them so you might keep the list short or arrange the frequently-used ones at the top. Phone numbers can be manually stored in the handset memory. I am dissappointed that you cannot import Skype contacts into the phone's memory for quicker access. I have not used it very much with Skype to Skype calls. You get a list of missed calls and notification on the handset if you have voicemail and can even listen to your messages through the handset. The menus are easy enough to navigate and are intuitive. There are a few customizations for sounds and displays, but they are limited. A light on the phone flashes if you have messages.
Sound quality is pretty good. A normal cordless phone sounds slightly better to me, but this may be more a function of Skype than the quality of the phone. The range is about the same as a good quality 2.4 ghz phone and is better than any 5.8 ghz phone I have used. I would expect nothing less than to be able to use it all over our 4 bedroom house and 50 feet or more outside the house and it passes that test. Battery life with the original batteries wasn't the best. A new set of Energizer 850 mah nimhs gives be about 5 days standby and 4-5 hours talking time.
I like that the charging cradle is separate from the USB transmitter / receiver. It gives you better flexibility for the phone's home base (it doesn't have to be by your computer). One complaint is that the A/C adapter for my charger quit working after two days. I was using it overseas with a 240v/120v converter so I didn't bother trying to get Linksys to fix it. I bought a 240v replacement with the same output and it works fine.
Overall I would definitely buy this again. It works flawlessly with Skype and has added "normal phone" convenience to cheap, international PC phone calls.

Pontos Fracos: Mac does not recognize this phone at all. Linksys says no plans to write a Mac driver.
Resumo: This is a nice internet phone, but it works with Windows only. If you are a Mac person, you can't use it at all. Not even as a remote speaker/microphone.

Pontos Fracos: A little bit pricy but worthy for the one who use skype a lot, would like to have a RJ11 jack for regular phone lines.
Resumo: Especially designed to be used with skype, the sound quality is outstanding for a free phone call. Behind this phone, lay the Linksys reputation well kept. would not be surprised if some one will get rid of the regular phone after trying this one. I think this linksys phone will be even more refined in the future once the price drops.

Pontos Fortes: Works great out of the box, no configuration needed. Clear sound quality and calls in the US and Canada are FREE Sweet!
Pontos Fracos: Power adapter is not universal so before you send it to friends outside the US check out the adapter that works for them.
Resumo: I have been using the CIT200 Skype phone for the past 10 days and find it a great buy for the price. The quality of sound is great and the best part is that I can call my skype contacts for FREE.
The phone is ready to use right out of the box, need to install the driver on the computer though. Doesn't come with the detailed manual so you'll need to download it from www.linksys.com
This is a great light weight cordless phone and for people using cell phones operates pretty much like one.

Great Skype phone, but

Pontos Fracos: computer speakers will not work when base station plugged in, hum in speakers from base station
Resumo: It was easy to setup and use. One issue is that the computer sound will not play through soundcard and speakers when unit plugged in. The base station has to be unplugged to get sound from the computer. It is setup on XP with non admin rights for normal user and when the base station is plugged back in, it won't recognize it without a computer reboot. In addition, even if sound won't play through speakers there is a hum from speakers when the base station plugged in. Sent an e-mail to Linksys and they said this was a "known issue" and were working on it.
Really is a great product for skype phone service.

Pontos Fracos: PC speakers and mike are disabled !! Very bad.
Resumo: I recommend to buy the product if you do not mind the incovenience of PC disabling of the audio portion. This incovenience could easily be overcome by disconnecting from the USB assuming that the USB is in front and connecting again when you want the cordless to function again. The instructions on how to dial a predetermined number are not clear.

Pontos Fortes: Great Sound Clarity. Use it to call Internationally (UK and Africa) and SkypeOUT saves me money. Have also called Skype-to-Skype and works well. Great to be free from computer to roam around.
Pontos Fracos: Computer Speakers don't work when plugged in. Just unplug USB station and speakers will work.
Resumo: Very happy with phone and would recommend it. Great sound, but sometime when calling other Skype users who have a poorer internet connection the call is degraded and there could be an echo (family living in Africa, but calls to UK great). However, when I call a phone number it has excellent sound quality. I am going to recommend this phone to family members.

Resumo: If Linksys would make it work with SIP it would be a perfect VoIP phone. Other than that it works well with Skype and has a good range. I use it in my backyard without any problems with the signal. The display is a low resultion one unlike most modern cell phones, but it is enough for basic functions.

 Instructions not fully tested - can be a difficult install Pontos Fortes: Lots of features, most not needed for a secondary SKYPE phone.
Pontos Fracos: Customer service does not know product. Drivers on enclosed CD incompatible with current SKYPE software.
Resumo: Instructions clearly not fully tested before it's release. You will need to use all your faculties to wade all the missing instructions - it can be done, but it is not for the faint of heart. Conflicts with most sound cards. Sound quality is inconsistent from one call to the next. Avoid this phone, better, less expensive products on the market.
