Pontos Fortes: well constructed body, fast continuous shooting, the commander mode for Advanced Wireless Lighting, the 2.5 inch LCD monitor is great!
Pontos Fracos: no infrared wireless remote control option like the D70, the new battery en-el3e is not that long lasting as I expected, exhausted when my 2GB compact flash card is filled up, 430 pics in fine mode.
Resumo: I upgraded from D70, it's really worth it, especially the commander mode of the built-in flash, I own 3 nikon speedlights, SB-800, SB-600, SB-30. In commander mode, I can get all flashes (4) to synch wirelessly at the same time, an instant portrait studio. I took some nice portraits of friends only possible previously in a professional studio.

The 3 primary setting: White Balance, ISO, and Quality of Picture, are all very easy to set than the D70. I am still exploring the other advanced functions of this powerful camera, up to this point, i couldn't be happier.

Hi, i'm a D70 user too and wd love your advice about the D200. (1) i find the D70 usually underexposes and am always having to compensate +1 or more -- how does the D200 compare? (2) what max size files in Tiff can it create from RAW? (3) how are the pix on the computer? i find the D70 pix need warming up nearly always unless taken under low light; also need brightening. (4) how is the feel/use after a D70? is it much heavier, chunkier? (5) have you tried the D70 battery with the D200? does it work? thanks sue

1. i am not sure about this, i feel like the picture quality, especially color saturation, is much better from the D200 2. the RAW file by d200 is close to 16mb 3. i feel you can always improve in post production, D200 gives you much better raw materials. jpeg fine file is 3-4 mb. 4. the D200 is much heavier, but not much chunkier 5. i have learned from a dealer, that you can't use D70 battery on D200, but you can use D200 battery on D70. the new battery is backward compatible. I am wondering how many of these users that are complaining of the low battery life of the D200 is using it with the 18-200VR lens that Nikon introduced with this camera? I recently discovered that these VR lenses consume a lot of power from the camera and I wonder if it is the source of the low battery life that they complain of?
